Immerse yourself in the soul and splendor of the mysterious Byzantine Empire through this interactive Family Day. Be enveloped in the sounds of another world, explore rich iconography through hands-on workshops, and see the treasures of a cultural millennium that continue to inspire people around the world.


Greek Traditional Music with Mario Lazaridis, Dimitri Mahlis, and George Moustakas

This trio of highly accomplished Greek musicians have toured the world performing with some of the most acclaimed composers and ensembles of the past quarter century. The music they will perform is directly derived from ancient Greece, transformed and embellished during the thousand years of the Byzantine Empire, influenced by 400 years of Ottoman rule, and preserved by both religious and cultural traditions.

Accessorize with ancient inspiration. Design your own uniquely patterned Byzantine-style band to wear around your wrist or adorn the crown of your head.


Ancient Coins
Emboss and impress into Fimo clay and mint your own relic-inspired currency.
