Now in its 35th year, Getty Leadership Institute (GLI) has served well over 1,100 museum professionals from more than 30 countries by advancing thoughtful leadership in the museum field. In 2010 the GLI moved from the Getty Center to its new home at Claremont Graduate University (CGU), supported by grants from the Getty. The move to CGU offered GLI the opportunity to expand and thrive as a leading international source of continuing professional development for current and future museum leaders in the context of a unique institution of higher education. In 2013 under new leadership, the GLI suspended and evaluated its programs, established new partnerships including a collaboration with the Center for Curatorial Leadership (CCL), and relaunched its summer Executive Education Program for Museum Leaders with a greater focus on art museums. GLI currently offers executive educational programs, special events, and an online forum to help forward-thinking museum professionals develop their knowledge and skills in order to manage change and forge success.
