Giorgio Vasari's Last Supper
The Last Supper (1546) by Giorgio Vasari is one of the most damaged artworks to survive the disastrous Florence flood of 1966. Now the work is undergoing conservation treatment at the Opificio delle Pietre Dure (OPD) in Florence as part of the Foundation's Panel Paintings Initiative, which is training the next generation of panel paintings conservators. The complexity of the treatment affords an unparalleled learning experience for trainees at various levels, allowing them to work side-by-side with leading experts in the field.
