New Keeping It Modern Grants

The Foundation has announced the 2017 Keeping It Modern grants for the conservation of twelve significant 20th century buildings around the world. Among this year's most recognizable projects is Germany's Bauhaus Building, the revered Dessau structure designed by architect Walter Gropius. The new grants have also expanded the initiative to include buildings in Japan, Morocco, Russia, and Turkey. Since its inception in 2014, Keeping It Modern has supported 45 international conservation projects that collectively point to the importance of research and planning for the preservation of modern architectural heritage.

25 Years of Multicultural Undergraduate Internships

In June, the Getty Foundation kicked-off the 25th anniversary of the Multicultural Undergraduate Internship program with a social media campaign highlighting intern alumni from over the years. Since the program's founding in 1992, 161 organizations, including the Getty, have offered over 3,200 internships that expose students to career possibilities in the arts. On the occasion of the anniversary we are also preparing a report on the program's impact that will be released this fall. If you or someone you know is an intern alumnus, we'd love to hear your reflections on the program's impact. Just share on social media with the hashtag #GettyInterns25.
